30. Frame & Connections

Mouse Nest #2

Grease & Dirt, what a combo!

After cleaning to remove the really disgusting grunge, the frame is now ready for final disassembly.

Off to the Car Wash for a final de-greasing.

Considering the beating it no doubt took over thirty years, the frame cleaned up very well.

Repairs:
The Engine Gussets, which are unique to the 147, were welded & ground on the top edge. This was done for cosmetic reasons, and to keep moisture from getting between the Gusset Plates. In my opinion, this should have been done when the tractor was built.
There appeared to be a small crack on the lower Frame Rail, just behind the Gussets.  The crack was ground and welded.
