Engine Inspection - February 2003

The goal is to take a look under the cylinder head.

 Based on the dust and cobwebs, it looks like the tractor was sitting for a while.

It looks like all the bolts, spacers are there (i.e. no hack work was done).

Some moisture got into the cylinder. All the goo was from a dousing with WD-40.

All things considered, not too bad.  If this is the original block, the cylinder is in very good shape after almost 33 years.

Now what?
The smart thing to do is yank this puppy and rebuild it. While it’s out, I can clean a lot of rust and dirt off the frame.
Gotta think about it.....
