I found this tractor in Michigan via the Internet and picked it up in late September 2002. The trip turned into quite an adventure which is chronicled under ‘Pictures’. The 125 was put into service immediately. Compared to the 72, this tractor has much more power and versatility. I also find it more stable due to it’s wider stance. This was a concern because we often mow on hilly terrain. For a tractor built in 1968, the 125 is in fairly good condition: Driveability - Slop in the Hydro Speed Control linkage causes the tractor to slow down on hills. This repair requires a tractor split. As with the 72, getting to my level of operation/relability has required a number of repairs. I’m sure there are more lurking in the weeds. Hopefully in 2004, I will be able to do a frame-off restoration. |
